A high quality school assembly is one of the most important feature and integral part of school curriculum at Maharshi Patanjali Vidya Mandir as it nurtures a positive school ethos amongst the students and the teachers. A day well begun not only brings out the inner capabilities and the positive work of the students but also channels them to a positive, focused and a calm start of the day.

The morning assembly commences with the Saraswati Vandana in Sanskrit which is followed by Sloka Chanting of the second chapter of our epic ‘Bhagawat Gita’. The children sing the school anthem ‘We are the patanjalies on Monday, Hanuman Chalisa on Tuesday and the school song ‘Apne Patanjali Vidya Mandir Ko Hame Swarg Banana on Wednesday. On Thursday the school choir sings the ‘Sarve Dharma Prathana’ ‘Tu hi Ram hai Tu Rahim Hai’. On Friday the School resounds with the holy chanting of ‘Gayatri Mantra’. On Saturday, the students invoke the God by the prayer. ‘Manavta ke mann mandir mei’.

The next phase of the assembly includes the paper presentations on the topic related to values of peace, health, happiness, environment and other important developments in the world in the form of inspirational stories, anecdotes etc that not only create awareness amongst students but also motivate them. Class V students present a ‘thought for the day’. The news are presented each day by the students on various national and international happenings which keeps the children updated.

The Principal Mrs. Sushmita Kanungo addresses the students each day which plays a cruicial role in striking a bond with the students as through her address she helps them to develop a healthy physical and mental attitude, and enables them to develop a deeper understanding of the world around them. She appreciates the children for their achievements and the children are awarded for their meritorious accomplishments.

To conclude the assembly, students mediate. Silence is done is creating an appropriate atmosphere which is conducive to leading them in a reflective mode. The children are encouraged to sit in a relaxed, comfortable and still manner thus developing the ability to use the inner eye of imagination and nurturing positive thoughts on the their screens of mind.

The students also practice yoga wherein with each breath they let their body become more relaxed by breathing in quietness and calm and with each out breath, they breathe out any worry and anxiety. Thus our school assembly creates, nurtures and sustains a sense of responsibility and a healthy all round development of the students.
