Republic Day Celebrated at MPVM

The 65 th Republic Day was celebrated in Maharshi Patanjali Vidya Mandir with great zeal and enthusiasm. The Chief Guest Sri U.N. Mishra, former Principal and Director of MPVM hoisted the tricolour and inspected the parade. The Chief Guest and the gathering were welcomed by the Principal Smt. Sushmita Kanungo, who congratulated everyone on the occasion. She urged that students should not only know their rights but do their duties in such a way that India is taken to greater heights.

The cultural programme commenced with the school choir presenting a patriotic song 'Yeh madhumaye desh hamara' followed by an inspiring speech by Anshita Tiwari. An action song ' Insaaf ki dagar pe' was put up by the children of Sarva Shiksha Prarambhik Vidyalaya. The members of Mahila Swavalamban Prashikshan Kendra had a discourse on the role of women in the making of their nation through ages and also highlighted the contribution of MPVM in their upliftment. A song 'Yeh jo desh hai mera' was rendered by Utkarsh of class XI. The meritorious students who were the subject toppers and stream toppers of class XII-2013 were honoured by the school.

Sri U.N. Mishra in his speech said that in these past 64 years India has achieved a lot but the progress should have been better. He expressed his views by saying that MPVM is an ideal institution where children are attaining spiritual, mental, moral and physical development. Imbibing all these aspects of personality, the youth of India should carry forward their nation transcending the dreams of the past leaders to reality.

The vote of thanks was extended by Smt. Neerja Singh.

The day's programme concluded with the National Song.
