Celebration of ‘Sanskrit Week’ at MPVM : With an aim to enable our students to understand and enjoy the treasure of true knowledge and the rich Indian culture hidden in our ancient language Sanskrit, also known as ‘Dev Vani’, Maharshi Patanjali Vidya Mandir is celebrating ‘Sanskrit Week’ from 07.09.15 to 12.09.15. The week began in our traditional way on 07.09.15 with a prayer offered to Goddess Saraswati, the Goddess of knowledge and music, by the students of different classes. Satyavrat Tiwari, a student of class 11th, highlighted the importance of Sanskrit language as well as its need in our present life. He said that it is the only language that connects our present with our glorious past. Leaving no stone unturned the other students too expressed their thoughts in the form of ‘Slokas’ and ‘Suktis’. Taking an advantage of the event held on 08.09.15 Ayushi Atal, a student of class 11th, extended her thought and deep respect towards ‘Dev Bhasha’ in the form of a speech. Later a group of students presented inspirational verses which mesmerized the entire school. The whole school seemed to be submerged in the deep ocean of ‘Vedic Era’. Although the days at MPVM commence with holy verses of ‘Bhagwat Gita’ throughout the year but during this week entire chapters are being chanted by the students which purify its listeners’ heart and soul. Today the students recited the sacred verses of chapter 2 of ‘Bhagawat Gita’ in a melodious way in which Arjuna asks Lord Krishna about ‘Sthit Pragya’ and Lord Krishna satisfies him by giving the examples from the social life. In this way Lord Krishna gives true knowledge to the entire world. At this great event the Principal Mrs. Sushmita Kanungo emphasized on the importance of Sanskrit language and praised the students for their efforts. She also encouraged them to learn more and more about our ancient language. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has laid great emphasis on the teaching of Sanskrit and spreading its awareness among students. In keeping with this view, Maharshi Patanjali Vidya Mandir has organized the “Sanskrit Week”. On the 5th day of the week long celebrations, the children continued to give the assembly presentation in Sanskrit. The assembly began with the thought of the day in Sanskrit followed by a well-rehearsed song “Mansa Sattam Smarniyam”. The presentation ended with the children singing “Vande Mataram”. Principal MPVM, Smt. Sushmita Kanungo congratulated the students on their efforts and praised the clarity and confidence in speaking the language. On the last day of Sanskrit saptaah, the assembly programme began with the school prayer in Sanskrit, followed by the chanting of Shlokas from the Bhagwad Geeta. A student of class V presented a beautiful thought in Sanskrit on the importance of knowledge as a primary wealth of human beings. It was followed by ‘Ganesh Stotra’ and the beautiful recital of ‘Ganga Stuti’. The last presentation was the chanting of verses from chapter twelve of Bhagwad Geeta. The week long programme was beautifully anchored by Satya Vrata Tiwari of XI B. All the participants were highly praised by the Principal Mrs. Sushmita Kanungo for their effort and flawless Sanskrit recitals that the school students tried to present.
