Maharshi Patanjali Vidya Mandir hosts the Teachers’ Training Workshop conducted by CBSE-------> **************************************************** The host school Maharshi Patanjali Vidya Mandir concluded a two days Training Workshop for teachers on Continuous & Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) conducted by CBSE from 19th to 20th July 2016. 85 teachers from leading schools of Allahabad and other adjoining areas like Varanasi, Pratapgarh, Jhansi, Kanpur etc. attended the second day of the workshop. The day began with lighting of the lamp by the Venue Director of the workshop & the Principal of MPVM Mrs. Sushmita Kanungo & Ms. Raman Deep Kaur alongwith Ms. B. Singh, two eminent Resource Persons from CBSE. The workshop commenced at 9 a.m. with a brief introduction of the sessions and activities to be held during the day. Resuming the second session (Components of Classroom Management), they detailed the features, developing rules and procedures for effective classroom management through activities. Teachers were told that for a proper classroom management they should be well versed with teaching methodology of the concerned subjects. They should have proper skills and techniques to manage the class effectively. They should understand students’ behaviour and their needs and also should have positive approach towards all the approaches required for teaching-learning and classroom management. Activity 10 and 11 dealt with Conduct Management and Covenant Management (focusing on Management of interpersonal relationship). Session 3rd (Dealing with Misbehaviour) began at 12:30 p.m. by the resource persons in which they told about models for managing students behaviour. The main objective of this session was to enable participants to deal effectively with misbehaviour in their classrooms. Session 4th & 5th were based on Management of Large Classes and Classroom Management Plan, aiming to enable teachers to manage class with large number of students effectively. The resource persons gave some tips to the participants for teaching classes with large number of students. They said that teachers should do everything possible to get to know their students. They should have a positive relationship with their students as this builds a willingness on their part to actively participate in the class. They also asked teachers to use positive discipline techniques and stressed on not to give corporal punishment as using the threat of physical violence, however, does not encourage students to learn from the teacher. It also destroys the classroom’s psycho-social environment. At the end of the workshop Mrs. Anita Chaurasiya from Sun International School, Jhansi, Mrs. Roopa Kumar (Jagat Taran Golden Jublee School), Mr. Afjal Khan (Allahabad Public School),Mrs. Rupa Chakroborty (MPVM Ganga Gurukulam), And Mr.Dharmendra Kumar Mishra from Pt. Nagesh Dutt Public School expressed their experience and said that the workshop was very interesting and informative. The teachers were asked to fill up the feedback form. The workshop successfully concluded at 5:30 p.m. with the help of the Co-Ordinator Mrs. Mrignainy Arya (MPVM) and with a formal valedictory function and vote of thanks by Mr. Saumitra Guha from MPVM. Participation certificates were given to all the participants by the CBSE Regional Officer Shri Piush Kumar Sharma & Joint Director CBSE Delhi Shri Ram Shankar who is also the Head of the Centre of Excellence for Teacher (COET) at Raebareli.
