PATANJALI GROUP OF SCHOOLS CELEBRATES
GANDHI JAYANTI AND SHASTRI JAYANTI -------->
Gandhi Jayanti and Shastri Jayanti were celebrated with great zeal and fervour by the three branches of the ‘ Patanjali Group of Schools’ in the Radhakrishnan Hall.
The programme commenced with the lighting of the lamp by the Honorary Secretary Prof. Krishna Gupta, Principal MPVM Smt. Sushmita Kanungo, Headmistress Patanjali Rishikul Smt. Monika Dutt and Headmistress Patanjali Nursery School Smt. Kiran Kochar. The Treasurer Sri Ravindra Gupta and the Director Sri Madhukar Gunay also graced the occasion by their presence.
The bhajan ‘Payoji Maine Ram Ratan Dhan Payo’ was presented by Ms. Anurita Banerjee and Sri A. K. Sharma accompanied her on the synthesizer, both teachers from MPVM. The students of the same school showcased the glimpses from the lives of Gandhiji and Shastriji. Salt Movement, Gandhiji’s pledge to lead a plain and simple life like that of every Indian, how to be Self Reliant – all were depicted through a heart touching enactment of the scenes. The teachers of PNS presented a Sarva Dharma Prarthana, in the form of a melodious song.
The teachers of PR rendered the ever so pious ‘Ramdhun’ and ‘Vaishnav Jan To’ which were very close to Gandhiji’s heart. The teachers of the same school held a talk show on the values, ideologies and principles of Gandhiji and Shastriji, that how they are relevant in today’s world and how they will always be.
The celebration ended with a speech by Prof Krishna Gupta. She talked about the two inspiring personalities, their thoughts and their lives which have set an example for all Indians. She opined that it was high time when the world should come together and this could only be done by following the path of non violence shown by Gandhiji, so that the world would be united and people would live in harmony.
The programme was beautifully conducted by a senior teacher of MPVM, Smt Deepa Rani, who also extended a vote of thanks.
