66th R-Day Celebrations at MPVM
The 66th Republic Day was celebrated at Maharshi Patanjali Vidya Mandir with patriotic zeal. The cloudy rainy day could not dampen the enthusiasm of the MPVian students. The Tricolour was unfurled by the Hony. Secretary of MPVM Samiti Prof. Krishna Gupta and the whole school resounded with the National Anthem sung in unison by the teachers and students. This was followed by a group song sung by the students of the school choir. Animesh of class 10 A presented a speech on this occasion where he wanted every Indian to think about the true meaning of the terms Sovereign Democratic Republic. The speech not only outlined our achievements and progress but the necessity of being aware of our defects as well. Quoting the lines of our PM Narendrea Modi the speech repeated the promise of upholding the greatness of our country India. Ashish Gupta of 10 A recited a beautiful patriotic poem titled ‘Swadesh Gaurav’. Anupam Pandey of 10 B touched everyones heart by a beautiful presentation of the much known song ‘Kar Chale Hum Phida Ye Jaan-tan Sathiyon’. Other extraordinary highlights of the day included a speech by Jyoti Yadav, a student of the Mahila Swavalamban Prashikshan Kendra. The speech marked the progress that the girl students of the noble project were making in the direction of education, self-confidence, social awareness, their rights and economic independence. The same promise of development could be seen in the group song presented by the students of Patanjali Sarva Shiksha Prarambhik Vidyalaya.
In her address Prof. Krishna Gupta congratulated all the teachers and students on this occasion. She alluded to the historical importance of this day when two world leaders – the President of USA Barrack Obama and our PM Narendra Modi were giving a new definition to diplomatic relationship by establishing a warmer and closer friendship. She paid tributes to the sacrifices of our national martyrs, the makers of our constitution and all other great personalities of the country that have led the country to success. She spoke on the importance of the unity and her faith in Youth – Power.
The Principal Mrs. Sushmita Kanungo thanked Prof. Krishna Gupta, Prof. S.S. Tripathi and Sri Madhukar Gune for being a part of the school celebrations. Her message to her students was to be always proud of their own country and not to measure how much India has given them but to think how much they can give to their own Motherland.
