Maharshi Patanjali Vidya Mandir Celebrates Guru Purnima Maharshi Patanjali Vidya Mandir celebrated its 31st anniversary on the auspicious day of Guru Purnima with great zeal and fervour. The school was founded by Late Shri Lokmanilal ji in the year 1986 with the vision of inculcating Indian values in the students. The day started with a special morning assembly. The students of class V recited shlokas to pay a tribute to our great gurus. A speech was delivered by Piyush of class X reflecting on the importance of Guru Purnima. After the morning assembly as per the tradition of the school, a programme was commenced at Raman Hall with the lighting of the lamp by the distinguished guests. Hony. Secretary Prof. Krishna Gupta, Shri Ravindra Gupta, Principal Mrs. Sushmita Kanungo and former Principal Shri U.N. Mishra. CBSE officer Mr. Rajpal Singh and his wife were also present to grace the occasion simultaneously. Guru Vandana was harmoniously presented by a group of students. A speech was delivered by Shambhavi and Aryan. They laid focus on the sanctity of Guru and Shishya relationship. On this occasion a talk show was organized by the students of class 10th on the topic ‘Fruits and Roots’. The students discussed about the dreams and vision of the founder President. They represented the leaves of the tree as teachers and fruits as its students who are flourishing under the guidance of their teachers. The roots of the tree are spreading the vision and ideals of the founder President. Thereafter a melodious and mesmerizing bhajan was sung by Shrikant Chaubey which made everyone spellbound in the hall. Prof. Krishna Gupta in her address welcomed everyone present there. She praised the students for their effort and commitment. She spoke on the significance of Guru in our lives. It is Guru who dispels the darkness of our minds. She told the students to be grateful to their teachers. This gratitude will help them to achieve the goal of life. She said that children were getting uprooted from their culture. Lokmanilalji wanted the children to excel in regional languages and develop universal, cultural values. She felt proud of her students who brought glory to the school and gratitude towards the teachers for their hard work. She congratulated the students on the birthday of the school and the auspicious day of Guru Purnima. Former Principal Shri U.N. Mishra praised the children for their hardwork and motivated to imbibe the values in them. Vote of thanks was given by our senior teacher Mrs. Deepa Rani Gupta. On the occasion of Guru Purnima various activities were organized in the school. Class V students recited Dohas and Shlokas based on the theme of Guru Purnima. Class VI students enacted valued based stories on the theme ‘Eklavya and Dronacharya’, Save the trees’, ‘Mahatma Gandhi’ ‘Improve yourself before improving others’ and ‘Seeds to trees’. Class VII students participated in a Slogan Writing Competition. Class VIII students made some beautiful charts, posters and colourful collages by merging the pictures of Gurus. Students of Class IX presented a meaningful value based short skit on the theme of Guru Purnima. The children participated in all the activities with great interest and happiness. The day came to a closure with the spirit of fervour and joy.
