M.P.V.M. Celebrates Guru Purnima-------> Guru Purnima is an Indian spiritual tradition dedicated to teachers, who are evolved or enlightened humans, ready to impart their knowledge and wisdom. On the 27th of July 2018 Maharshi Patanjali Vidya Mandir celebrated the occasion with great zeal and enthusiasm. The day started with an assembly programme by the students of class XI showcasing the different aspects of a teacher. The day is extra special for MPVM as it is also the foundation day of the school. The foundation of the school was laid by the founder President, Late Shri Lokmanilal Ji with the vision of inculcating Indian values. The main celebration commenced with the lighting of the lamp by the Honorary Secretary Dr. Krishna Gupta, Principal Smt. Sushmita Kanungo and former Principal Shri U.N. Mishra along with the recital of Guru Stotra. A very melodious ‘Guru Vandana’ ‘Pratham Dev Guru Dev Jagat Mein’ was presented by the school choir followed by a speech by Siddharth Singh, highlighting the importance of Guru and Shishya bond since ancient times. Medhavi Sahu delivered a speech, on the 32nd Foundation Day of the school and the achievements of the school and its students. Dhwani Singh recited couplets on Guru Mahima. Thereafter a mesmerizing bhajan was rendered by Riya Srivastava in ‘Raag Bhopali’ which left everyone spellbound. On this occasion a skit based on Guru Dakshina named ‘Acharya Devo Bhava’ was presented by the students. On this auspicious day, Prof. Krishna Gupta congratulated the students and the teachers for successfully completing 32 years. She appreciated the program staged by the students of Class XI, whole heartedly. She blessed the children and urged the students to pay respect and have gratitude for their teachers. The Principal Smt. Sushmita Kanungo wished everyone on the occasion of Guru Purnima. She told the students about the importance of teachers and how a student should surrender himself to their teachers and get the best out of them and shine like a gem. Various activities were conducted for the whole day, for different classes on this occasion. In the primary section classes I and II children recited poem based on the theme of Guru Purnima while classes III and IV students presented pkSikbZ from ‘Ram Charit Manas’ depicting the importance of Guru in their lives. Class V students delivered speeches on the theme of Guru Purnima. Class VI students had a quiz competition based on the theme of ‘Nature’ and the students of class VII actively participated in the quiz related to the eposides from Ramayan and Mahabharat. Class VIII students made beautiful charts on the topic ‘Love our Culture’ in which they showed the importance of Yoga, respect for their Gurus, Literature, Music and Environment. Technology plays a vital role in one’s life. The thoughts and ideas can be expressed in a beautiful manner with the help of moving pictures and sounds called animation. The students of Class IX and X brought something interesting in the form of their Animation short films reflecting the relationship between the Guru and Shishya through the lives of great teachers like Buddha, Chanakya, Guru Nanak Dev etc. A debate competition was conducted for Class XI on the topic ‘Single Sex Schools are better for students’. The children participated in all the activities with great enthusiasm. The day ended with a positive note.
